PRE-SALE SET-UP: Be prepared for some lifting or volunteer your spouse to help. Volunteers will be unloading the truck, setting up racks, tables and signage.
CONSIGNOR DROP-OFF: Checking all merchandise that comes through the door with a fine tooth comb to make sure it meets our standards. Helping consignors place their merchandise on the sales floor.
DURING THE SALE: Greeting customers at the front door, handing out shopping bags.
FRONT CHECK-OUTS: Bagging merchandise and directing shoppers to the next till and helping with various tasks.
SALES FLOOR: Helping customers and monitoring the sales floor. Zoning for items that are out of place.
SALE BREAK-DOWN: Sorting, organizing unsold merchandise and placing items in a consignor's basket. Packing up tables, fixtures and loading the truck.
DADS: We need dads who can help with the set-up and the breakdown of the sale. We also need dads that can help with security and carry outs on our busy days. When dads work, Mom gets to shop the Pre-Sale EXTRAVAGANZA!
We understand that not everyone enjoys working with the public and that some people will not be available to volunteer during the time frame that a sale takes place. We are pleased to announce our brand new Social Butterflies - Volunteer Option (counts as one (1) three (3) hour volunteer shift). We limit the number of volunteers for our Social Butterfly option so do not delay applying if you are interested!
SOCIAL BUTTERFLY OPTION: Message all your friends on Facebook a link to our Facebook Fan Page twice. Post OGOP info on 15 Facebook groups and or free websites twice (kijiji, Savvy Mommy, Kids Ottawa, Wee Welcome, etc). Ads are already created and all you need to do is copy and paste.
LET'S MAKE A DEAL: Got Media Contacts? Have any ideas? We want to hear them and connecting us with a reporter qualifies as a volunteer shift! Do you have a special talent or skill and feel that your background could help us? We are open to any suggestions and ideas. Our goal is to partner with businesses and people within our community creating win/win/win situations. If your interest is piqued then we definitely want to hear from you!
